The Access Foundation Funds Essential Medical Equipment for Children’s Hospital in Timisoara
Associatia Scoala Mamei Junior hospital in Timisoara, Romania has taken delivery of essential medical equipment this week, following a £15,100 grant from The Access Foundation.
The Foundation supports charities, projects and activities which make a real difference to people’s lives in all of the countries in which The Access Group operates. The Group has recently opened its new offices in Timisoara, which will be officially launched in May.
The funding has enabled the purchase of a videobrochoscope for the children’s hospital in the city of Timisoara, which currently provides medical care for children from over half of the country.
The new device will avoid the need to transport hundreds of children over 300km to other hospitals for emergency interventions every year.
The mission of the Associatia Scoala Mamei Junior is to bring equality of healthcare to all children in Romania through health educational programs for parents, rehabilitation centres for special needs children, and the renovation and acquisition of healthcare devices for hospitals.
The charity also runs special projects to counter poverty and to help refugees.
