Nottingham County Scout Council

The Access Foundation is pleased to support Nottinghamshire County Scout Council.  Our grant helps give young people the opportunity to attend the World Scout Jamboree in 2027. 

The World Scout Jamboree is one of the biggest international events in Scouting. It brings together young people and volunteers from across the world. The 2027 Jamboree will take place in Gdańsk, Poland. The Jamboree gives Scouts the chance to experience adventure, friendship, cultural exchange and shared learning on a global scale. 

For Notts Conquerors, the aim is to give 36 young people an international experience. This helps build understanding of different cultures, beliefs and backgrounds. Scouting is built on the belief that these opportunities should be open to young people regardless of their circumstances. This grant will help make that possible for those who face financial barriers.  

This is where The Access Foundation's support makes a meaningful difference. By helping with the cost of attending, the grant gives young people the chance to focus less on the financial pressure and more on the experience itself. It means they can look forward to taking part in something they may remember for the rest of their lives. 

One young person supported by the funding said: 

"For me personally, fundraising is hard when I don't have much family local to me. This funding has helped me relax more regarding the money side of things and enjoy the experience more."  

Through this grant, we are supporting Notts Conquerors to ensure financial difficulty does not stand in the way of a once-in-a-lifetime Scouting experience.
