Tracy Kerridge – Volunteer Ambassador

I remember thinking when the Access Foundation was conceived in 2021, what a fantastic initiative it was so becoming an ambassador was always on the cards for me as I sped towards retirement from my role as Data Protection Officer at the Access Group

I knew all the Trustees and Ambassadors already having worked with them previously. In fact, I reported to Kevin and Rob during my career, so I looked forward to working with all of them again. They were all people I liked and admired so it was a done deal as far as I was concerned and the Operations team that joined latterly are now becoming more people I can like and admire! I really do work with the best bunch of people possible.

I never envisaged how rewarding a role this would be at the beginning, but it has exceeded all my expectations. I get to meet up with old colleagues, discover new friends and along the way and on top of that, help amazing charities that in turn,  help so many people through the grant giving process. The  appreciation from those involved is humbling as I don’t need to do much other than to present a proposal to the Trustees that they can’t refuse.

On a personal note, I live in sunny (most of the time) Suffolk with my long-suffering husband, Pete and ensure we travel as often as we can before old age catches up with us!
