Access Foundation grant makes a real difference to children in New Zealand
Kind Hands offers Early Childhood Education and Respite Care for children under 7 who have a disability and/or are medically fragile
and/or are technology dependent. It benefits all children in the above categories throughout Northland. It is in Whangarei and is the only facility of its kind in New Zealand.

This makes them particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of excessive noise. The Access Foundation’s grant pays for the installation of acoustic ceiling panels. This will reduce noise and enhance the learning environment for the children.
Research indicates that many children in early childhood centres are exposed to noise levels that can impede language development and increase stress. For children with auditory processing disorders or sensory sensitivities, such environments can be overwhelming.
This initiative aims to reduce ambient noise, enhance speech intelligibility, and create a calming atmosphere conducive to learning and well-being. This project promises immediate benefits in reducing sensory overload.
