OrphanCare Foundation has been working in Malaysia since 2008 with a simple but powerful belief: every child needs a family. The foundation works to give children in institutions and unplanned, at-risk newborn babies the opportunity to grow up in the care of a loving family.
Alongside their work in adoption advocacy and baby hatch services, OrphanCare Foundation run community programmes aimed at strengthening family relationships and keeping children out of institutions in the first place. Their latest initiative, REAL TALK, is an evolution of their existing I Am in Control programme, expanded to reach more young people, parents and communities across Malaysia.
REAL TALK delivers interactive sessions through peer education and media campaigns, alongside workshops and practical resources for parents and vulnerable groups. Sessions cover topics including healthy relationships, consent, online safety and how to support friends in difficult situations, all delivered in a way that is relatable and accessible rather than lecture-based.
Our grant will help OrphanCare Foundation expand REAL TALK to reach more young people, parents and communities, strengthening the family relationships that give every child the best possible start.
