I worked in the IT and software industry for 33 years and it really appealed to me to be involved in charitable work where we help those who have been

unable to fully participate in the digital world. There was also a huge appeal in being able to re-engage with the company where I had invested half of my working life and where I knew and appreciated the unique culture of this extraordinary business.
Personally, I was very lucky to be whisked into the IT industry in the late 1980's where personal computers had just started to emerge and the industry was blooming. It seemed wholly appropriate in my older years to try to give back some of my time and experience to those who have been denied such opportunities. My hope and aim is that the projects The Foundation funds will provide, if only in some small way, to allow people to utilize, participate and benefit from this digital world.
I worked with Access for 22 years in a range of roles, lastly as Customer Services Director. I finally retired in 2019. Although I had undertaken some charitable work and helped out some member organisations, I was really pleased to be asked to become a Foundation Trustee in October 2021.
