Foundation of Goodness announced as Sri Lankan Charity of the Year 2026

The Access Foundation is pleased to support Foundation of Goodness, with a grant through our Charity of the Year pillar.

Foundation of Goodness works with rural communities in Sri Lanka, helping people access education, skills training and community support. Its purpose is to empower less privileged rural communities and create equal opportunities for people.  

The grant will support three areas of the charity's work. This includes providing 17 essential school supply packs for children from rural and struggling communities, helping them stay in school and continue their education.  

Funding will also contribute to four months of Ocean Care activity at Seenigama beach, supporting the collection of waste and debris to help protect the local environment and marine life. In addition, the grant will help sponsor four months of hospitality and housekeeping training for rural young people, giving them practical skills for future employment in Sri Lanka's tourism industry.  

For Foundation of Goodness, this support will make a difference across both immediate needs and long-term opportunities. As Swanthri Jayawardena from the Foundation of Goodness Communications Team explained, the grant will help rural communities become "more empowered and capable of achieving their ambitions," while also supporting education, employment and environmental care.
