Bridging the Digital Divide in Eastbourne Thanks to The Access Foundation’s support, TechResort CIC has received £40,540 to expand its work tackling digital exclusion in Eastbourne and across East Sussex.

In one of the UK’s most deprived areas, TechResort is transforming lives through practical, community-based digital inclusion. The charity refurbishes donated laptops, trains people with low digital confidence, and offers free one-to-one coaching to help residents access essential services, education, and job opportunities online. Last year alone, they supported nearly 1,300 people — a number expected to rise even further this year.

What makes TechResort stand out is its focus on empowering young people. Many of its team members are in their first jobs, gaining hands-on experience by repairing devices and teaching digital skills to others. It’s a powerful model that helps two generations at once: young people building careers, and adults gaining the confidence to navigate a digital world.

This grant will help TechResort refurbish and distribute 200 laptops, run more digital skills sessions across Eastbourne, and strengthen its ability to measure long-term impact — paving the way for sustainable funding and future growth.
