In our fourth full year of operation, The Access Foundation approved 135 grants totalling £2,128,170, continuing our commitment to supporting people in need across the UK and around the world.
Thanks to the tireless work of our charity partners, this funding is reaching thousands of people – from families affected by dementia in the UK, to trafficking survivors rebuilding their lives in Vietnam, to communities restoring marine habitats around Britain’s coastline.
In terms of our funding principles, The Foundation continued to focus on charities which fit into one of our three funding pillars:
Our Funding Pillars
Bridging the Digital Divide
Organisations who prioritise the mitigation of the digital divide by supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable people through digital education and resources, as well as better access to computing facilities and services.
Access Charities of the Year
Charities who have been selected as The Access Group charities of the year, with specific projects or activities.
Employee-Nominated Charities
Organisations that a member of staff of The Access Group has either experienced significant support from (either for themselves or a close relative), or contributes a significant portion of their own time in supporting.
UK Charity of the Year for 2025/26
This year saw Dementia UK named as our UK Charity of the Year for 2025/26, receiving our largest single grant of the year – £249,464 – to support families accessing its specialist Admiral Nurse services. We also welcomed the Foundation of Goodness in Sri Lanka into our global Charities of the Year cohort for the first time, while deepening long-standing partnerships with organisations including the Marine Conservation Society, Mustard Tree and Fight for Peace.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Our Bridging the Digital Divide funding remains our largest pillar, with over £1.2 million invested in helping disadvantaged people gain the skills and access needed to thrive in the digital world. Our employee-nominated grants also told a distinctive story this year: seven grants supported hospice and end-of-life care charities, and our team in Romania nominated thirteen local organisations for support, reflecting the passion of our people across every territory we operate in.
